Darin A. Sender – Zoning Attorney
Darin A. Sender is a zoning attorney and President of the Law Firm of Sender Associates, Chartered, located in Downtown Tempe; founded in 2000. Ms. Sender received her Juris Doctorate degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago, and her Bachelor of Science in Design of Architecture from Arizona State University. Her involvement in the development and entitlements field includes many diversified development projects ranging from multi-family and single family residential to mixed-use infill and industrial. Notably, Ms. Sender was closely involved in the four year process of rewriting the City of Tempe Zoning and Development Code as a lawyer-member of the citizen commission, then later as a Planning Commissioner drafting and approving the final document. She shares her interest in the zoning entitlement process by teaching courses regarding zoning entitlements to graduate and senior level planning and real estate students within the ASU College of Design and Master of Real Estate Development programs. She is involved in many community and civic activities including as a selected participant for AZ One, A Reality Check for Central Arizona, and as a corporate member of Valley Partnership and the Pinal Partnership. Ms. Sender is also an Associate AIA of the American Institute of Architects and the Arizona Institute of Architects. Ms. Sender’s legal affiliations include memberships with the State Bar of Arizona and the American Bar Association. Her diverse background in planning, architecture and law creates a superior opportunity to serve clients in need of comprehensive understanding and problem solving within the zoning entitlement realm, and her enthusiasm for the field of regulatory planning provides the spark for that diversity.
