Fred Hovater – Senior Consultant

Mr. Hovater is a Licensed Journeyman Aircraft Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic with 25 years experience working with large commercial, general aviation, and military aircraft.

 

Mr. Hovater’s career in aviation began with Airborne Express Airlines in 1987 as a Line Maintenance Representative working on DC-8, DC-9, YS-11, and B767 aircraft.  After becoming Regional Fleet Maintenance Manager in 1997 his responsibilities included FAR Part 121 compliance and maintenance training for initial and re-current aircraft systems and Avionics.  Mr. Hovater also managed Northwest Airlines maintenance under contract.  His innovations and leadership ensured on time performance for both airlines.

 

After retiring from the airline Mr. Hovater became an instructor for a nationally accredited Aviation Maintenance School.  Mr. Hovater’s curriculum designs for maintenance and avionics insured the students attained the highest level of education under FAR Part 147.  He also worked for a military contractor where Mr. Hovater manufactured wiring, parts and assemblies for the E6B, F18 Hornet and B52 Aircraft.

 

While at Williams Aviation Mr. Hovater has designed built and received FAA certification for a High School based aircraft airframe and power plant training curriculum.  There are only 3 (three) High School programs certified under FAR Part 147 in the U.S. at this time.

 

Mr. Hovater is now responsible for FAR Par 121 contract maintenance for air carriers that operate passenger and freight operations through the Phoenix metro area.  This includes supervising all aircraft and ground equipment mechanics and related services.
