Sara Sparman

Sara Sparman currently works as a Government Relations Specialist at Williams & Associates.  Sara regularly assists Mike Williams in managing the lobbying, government relations and public affair needs of clients.

Sara has over 8 years of experience and specializes in government relations, lobbying and public policy at all levels of Arizona government.  She has successful experience in the following areas: legislative agenda development, grassroots development, fund-raising, individual/group presentations, television, radio, newspaper publicity, policy negotiations, special events coordination and project management.

Prior to returning to Williams & Associates, Sara served as the Outreach & Government Relations Director for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation where her primary responsibilities were to establish and develop the Chapter’s outreach, grassroots and legislative programs in Arizona and New Mexico. She represented the interests of Arizona and New Mexico families living with type 1 diabetes and diabetes related healthcare professionals. While at JDRF, Sara developed and led successful efforts on a number of issues including maintaining mandated healthcare coverage for those in Arizona living with diabetes, improving access to care for children living with diabetes in Arizona schools and maintaining funding for diabetes programs through the Arizona Department of Health Services. Sara also served on the Arizona Diabetes Leadership Council and assisted in development of the AZDHS’ five-year strategic plan relating to management of the state’s diabetes epidemic. She was also a member of the Arizona Diabetes Coalition and chaired the Advocacy Committee of the Coalition.

Sara has also worked with the Alzheimer’s Association to develop their grassroots strategy in Arizona and worked at the Arizona State House of Representatives while finishing her degree in Political Science from Arizona State University.

Throughout her career, Sara has developed and maintained relationships with legislators, staff and member of various state agencies.

Sara is a native of Albuquerque, New Mexico and has lived in Arizona since 2000.
